FAQ

1 How do I know what parameters to use?

In order to properly format an Oracle output the report must be run with certain parametes. If you are not sure what parameters to use - click on the report name in Oraculum menu. Before Oraculum starts the formating routine it  checks if the content of the active sheet is the expected Oracle output (checks the presents of a few key words). If it does not recognize  correct values, then the error message is  displayed  showing you  all obligatory parameters. It does not show all parameters - then these params are optional or non relevat to Oraculum and you can chose any value.

For Trial Balance - Detail the only mandatory param is PageBreak which must be FUTURE

2 Can I force Oraculum to be opened each time I launch MS Excel?

Though Oraculum is an ordinary Excel file you can firmly build it into your MS Excel enviroment.

  1. Save Oraculum.xls to own folder (i.e. C:\tools\xlStart)
and make sure the Oraculum will be the only file in this folder
  2. Open MS Excel and choose Tools>Options tab General
and type the location of Oraculum  in an At startup box

This will cause each time you launch Excel the all files located in c:\tools\xlstart\ will be opened. However one of Oraculum feature is that it becomes hidden immediately after opening - so the only effect of this action will be that you will get available a new menu option Oraculum

3 Excel warns me to run macros. Is it safe to enable macros?

By default MS Excel macro seurity setting is set to Medium (Tools>Macro>Security). It means each time you open Excel file which contains some VBA scripts (macros) you can decide whether to enable or disable macros (they might be potentially dangerous as in past years some viruses were coded in VBA). You have two options how to avoid this annoying message.

1. Either set the security to LOW  (Tools>Macros>Security)
(you must take into account that by this  you will enable all macros in all files)

2. or set the security to HIGH

and next time you open Oraculum (only availbable from version 227 and higher!!!) you  can add publisher PSOUKUP as your trusted PUBLISHER

Since that time all macros digitally signed by PSOUKUP will be enabled while  al otherl macros will prompt for confirmation
